The gentle profile of the mountain with its rounded slopes and summits makes Pamporovo particularly suitable for beginners. But there are also difficult ski runs like the Giant Slalom and the infamous Wall runs which are excellent exercise for every skiing expert.

All ski runs are safe guarded and maintained in a very good condition. More than 100 highly qualified ski instructors fluent in different languages are present to teach both beginners and intermediate skiers and snowboarders. Ski rentals are available near the ski runs and the lift stations and you can book ski equipment & snowboard rental, ski school or private instruction through our partners Interski-pamoprovo.

The ski runs of Pamporovo include all hardship levels. They are located between 1926m and 1450 m above sea level on the northern, eastern and western slopes of The Snejhanka Mountain peak.

INTERSKI-PAMPOROVO

Visit them at www.interskipamporovo.com

email:  interskipamporovo@yahoo.com

Petar and his brilliant team of support staff and instructors at Interski-pamporovo will be pleased to

assist you with ski, pole and boot hire, snowboard high, ski and snowboard maintenance, lift passes and of course private lessons should you wish arrange those. They will also store your kit for you overnight at their base – saving you the bother of lugging everything backwards and forwards on the bus. The guy in charge of kit – remembers who has what and it will all be ready for you when you arrive in the morning.

Interski-Pamporovo offer individual lessons or teach in small groups – usually a maximum of 4. The instructors have all graduated from the Bulgarian Ski School, have excellent English, are brilliant teachers and have great sense of humours. Please contact us for more information.

Note: Petar will also be happy to arrange transfers from and to both airports. They will need notice so please let us know as soon as you make your flight reservation and we can confirm prices. As a guide Sofia/Pamporovo  is Euro100 per journey. Plovdiv/Pamporovo Euro 40 per journey.

Private Lessons Versus Ski School

The Bulgarian Ski School is world renowned and good value. However the groups are larger and therefore the individual attention less. Contact them at www.pamporovoresort.com/details.

Both are great value for money in terms of ski tuition. Other ski schools operate in the area and all have sound reputations. The choice is up to you and will probably depend on the size of your party and your budget.

Developments

Pamporovo has placed a bid to hold the winter Olympics and there is a large piste development programme underway to support this. Part of the Euro 300m planned Perelik Year Round Tourist Centre a new 6–seater lift to join the village of Skoikite to Snezanka is due for completion October 2008 and two further ski runs will enable a 5km ski route from the top of Snezanka to Skoikite. Those of us who have been before are really looking forward to trying that!

The most difficult ski piste is "The Wall", pictured below here
